Product Description

Kanhaiya Sushobhan Thali celebrates the tender and deeply cherished relationship between Krishna and Yashoda the mother who raised him in the loving world of Gokula. After Vasudeva brought Krishna to Gokula, Krishna grew up under the care of Nanda and Yashoda, surrounded by the simple joys of village life, family affection and the playful world of Vraja. The Śrīmad Bhāgavatam repeatedly portrays Yashoda’s profound maternal affection for Krishna.

For Yashoda, Krishna was first and foremost her beloved child. The stories of his childhood are filled with this intimate relationship: she feeds him, embraces him, worries about him, disciplines him and delights in his innocent mischief. Even when Krishna’s divine nature becomes momentarily apparent, the overwhelming force of her maternal love remains at the heart of their relationship.

The artwork captures that tenderness through an intimate embrace between mother and child. More than an image of Krishna, it is a celebration of vatsalya bhava the devotional emotion of unconditional maternal love. This Sushobhan Thali brings that warmth into the home as a reminder that some of the purest forms of love are found in care, affection and complete acceptance.
