Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and a revered centre of Shaivite faith. It is the only south-facing, self-manifested (Swayambhu) Jyotirlinga, renowned for its sacred Bhasma Aarti and vibrant festivals like Mahashivratri and Shravan. The temple welcomes around 1 lakh devotees daily, with footfall rising to 4.5–5 lakh during major festivals, generating an estimated 8–15 tonnes of floral offerings every day. Today, with the Mahakal Lok Corridor, it stands as one of India's most significant spiritual and cultural landmarks.
